Warrior Workshop

IGNITE YOUR INNER WARRIOR...

Warrior (Virabhadrasana) poses feature frequently in a vinyasa flow yoga practice.  In this workshop, we will explore these poses and break them down - their meaning, the benefits, proper alignment and modifications.  We  will also explore what qualities and strengths we can take from these poses off the mat to help ignite our inner warrior.  We face challenges in life, some more daunting and overwhelming than others. This workshop will tap into how we can use mindfulness and the breath to find the strength and wisdom that already resides within, in order to move through challenges with strength, ease and joy.

Inversion Workshop

Want to get upside down??

Learn how to face your fear of going upside down and why it's so worth doing.  Practicing Inversions requires equal amounts of concentration, courage, humbleness and a sense of fun, as well as strength and flexibility. The workshop will involve the key inversions - from Downward Dog to Shoulderstand, Headstand and Handstand -  and how to move into these with safety and awareness. We will look at how to encourage back, legs and core muscles to create stability in inverted postures, using handstand and other balances to help clarify the correct technique.

Go Slow Yoga Workshop

The Go Slow workshop is a chance to do just that:  to slow down and explore the inner landscape of your practice.  

This workshop is about looking after yourself, and learning the skills to bring self care into your practice. You will learn how to care for yourself inside out as we journey through Breath work, Asana, Self Massage, and Yin Yoga, followed by Yoga Nidra.

Welcome in the Spring by saluting the sun! Sun Salutations (Surya Namasakar) form the foundation of a Vinyasa Flow Yoga class. In this workshop, you will learn the meaning behind this ancient practice and explore the different variations - traditional Surya Namaskar and sequences A and B. You will learn proper alignment, how to co-ordinate breath with movement and modifications to maximise the benefits for your practice. Moving with Ease - on the Mat & in Life

Stråla Yoga with Rae Broderick 14 & 15 October 2017

Strala Yoga is a revolutionary approach to guiding feeling and movement, which is designed to trigger the body’s Relaxation Response, to promote overall health, physical and mental wellbeing.

Rae Broderick is a qualified Strala Yoga Guide and will lead two exciting workshops at Space studio this October to introduce the concept of Strala Yoga and its many benefits.

Moving with Ease on the Mat & in Your Life: 15 October 2017 2-5pm

 Drawing upon the natural movement principles of Stråla, Rae will guide you through a practice to focus on what you need, what you want and how to best take care of you along the way. Leave with useful practices applicable to daily life that will help you feel good on and off of your yoga mat.

Rae will end the day with a Stråla RELAX class – a moving flow that releases tension from your body and mind, while resting attention calmly on your breath. You drop the stress and feel revitalised.

Who can attend?

Everyone is welcome but you should be physically fit/mobile enough to move in a healthy way. If you have any medical injuries or conditions,you should get the consent of your doctor before starting a practice of yoga or pilates.  By signing up to do a workshop, individuals are confirming that they are physically fit enough to do the practice.

Sunday Sessions

Finish your weekend with the alternative Sunday Session at Space Studio.  These monthly sessions are specially designed for a Sunday evening - detox and cleanse the body after the weekend and restore the body and mind to prepare you for the week ahead.

What will the workshop involve?

We kick-start the session with an optional detox shot, then we move on to a gentle heated yoga practice to detox and cleanse the body - specifically designed to sweat and twist out toxins from the body.  You will have a break after the flow to rest and refresh - refreshments will be provided. After the break, we begin with some yin yoga to go deep into the body to open and release any tension before settling into some restorative yoga and relaxation to calm and settle the body and mind. No party would be complete without music and a selection of easy-listening, chilled out tunes will provide the soundtrack for your session. There may not be dancing but prepare to sweat! 

The party doesn't stop there - you take home a goodie bag with some treats specially selected so you can continue your relaxation at home.  A perfect way to end your weekend and prepare physically and mentally for the week ahead. 

Take some time out for yourself and join us for easy going Sunday Sessions at Space.

These sessions are suitable for all levels and abilities but if you have a medical condition or injury you should always seek medical advice and get consent from a medical practitioner before practising yoga or pilates - this is your own responsibility.

Please note if you have been drinking alcohol over the weekend, these sessions can help eliminate the toxins from your system.  However, you should NOT have consumed alcohol within the last 12 hours before practising and you should be prepared to sweat, LOTS!
